celepulsezo.net is a small, independent project that looks closely at the everyday moments of city life across Canada — the routines, corners and small rituals that rarely make headlines but quietly make up most of urban life.
Why we do this
Most writing about cities focuses on landmarks, events or problems. We think there is just as much worth noticing in the ordinary — the coffee line that forms the same way every morning, the bench where the same faces gather each afternoon, the crossing where a whole neighbourhood's rhythm is visible for a few seconds at a time. These details rarely get written down, so we try to.
What we cover
Our attention stays close to public and semi-public spaces across Canadian cities: transit platforms, sidewalks, parks, markets, cafés and the small, in-between places where daily routines happen. We are less interested in dramatic events and more interested in what a place looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.
How we work
Every observation starts with time spent in a place, often across several visits, before anything is written down. We favour plain, descriptive notes over dramatic storytelling, and we try to let the ordinary moment speak for itself rather than dressing it up.
